Burn Prevention Education
The SafeStep™ Program
Soon after developing
the proprietary products which would establish Tucker
Safety Products as a leader in burn injury prevention, Vincent
Tucker came to realize that these products would not achieve
their intended purpose if they were not used correctly. He
understood that in order to be truly and consistently effective,
his products needed to be integrated into a larger, comprehensive
safety program. This led him to develop and promote one of
the industry's first safety awareness, evaluation and training
programs which is entitled the SafeStep™ Program.
The program is comprised of six steps:
| 1. |
INJURY EVALUATION |
| |
We review all past burn injuries, current practices
and protective apparel being used. We then provide recommendations
based on these findings. |
| |
| 2. |
KITCHEN EVALUATION |
| |
We review equipment, hot spots, traffic patterns and
hazards in order to identify specific safety training needs. |
| |
| 3. |
PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS |
| |
We present and explain our recommendations which will
maximize safety, efficiency and offer value. Customizing
products may be necessary to meet your specific image requirements. |
| |
| 4. |
TRAINING SEMINARS |
| |
We then train the managers and provide information
so that they may train the employees in safe practices, safety
apparel and injury prevention. |
| |
| 5. |
CONTINUING SUPPORT |
| |
Safety is an ongoing process. We continue to monitor
safety performance and make procedural and material recommendations
or modifications as needed. This program has helped restaurant
owners to evaluate their own environments and to avoid many
accidents before they occur, contributing significantly to
worker morale as well as the bottom line. This program can
do the same for your business, whether you manage one or
one hundred plus sites. |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| 6. |
LITIGATION SUPPORT |
| |
If a company
subscribes to the SafeStep program and follows its entirety
Tucker Safety Products, Inc. will support that company's
efforts in regard to non-compliance, incorrect use of product,
failure of product. |
